Eliminate Keloid Scars Naturally and Without Side Effects

by Gerald Steinert

There are times when the growth of a scar will go beyond the wound it is healing. This can happen to just about anyone but is more common with people who have African descendancies.

The body will grow new tissue when it heals itself. This is when scars have the potential to show up. If The protein collagen is produced by the skin breaking due to a cut, scratch, burn, acne or bite.

Needed Info About Keloid Scars

Collagen will gather around the damage and builds up upon itself to help the wound seal over. Usually the wound is less noticeable over time. Then you have the cases of a wound not stopping to grow. The surround the healthy skin and then becomes bigger than the original wound. This phenomenon represents the keloid scar.

A keloid scar is an overgrown scar that has the potential to spread outside the original area of skin damage. Keloid scars are shiny and hairless, are raised above the surrounding skin, and can feel hard and rubbery. Keloids affect around 10-15% of all wounds. The body parts most affected by this skin condition are the neck, head, and shoulders.

Keloids can remain dormant and not grow for months after the time of the original injury. The colors new keloids can be are red or purple. Thing is they are not painful, but they will make people self-conscious.

They are not contagious nor are they cancerous. However doctors don't know why they don't show up.

Who Gets Keloid Scars??

Fair toned skin populations get keloids much less than those with darker shades of skin. This can be a hereditary skin condition, and the age range most affected is between 10 and 30.

This type of scar can come even after a small injury. Burns, acne scars and wounds that get infected are particularly likely to form keloids. Keloids have a high recurrence rate, so if you have had one before, you have a strong chance of getting another one.

Is there a way to reduce the risk?

You can't stop a keloid from happening, but you can avoid any deliberate cuts or breaks in the skin, such as tattoos or piercings, including on the earlobes.
